Looking for some fun games to play at a baby shower? We have compiled a list of suggestions sent to us by fellow shower-goers. If you have any you would like to add to the list, please submit them to us by clicking the "Submit your Idea" button under Shower Suggestions.

Measure Mom’s Big Belly Game.

Have a ball of string and scissors ready for guests to pass around. They will unroll a length of string that they think would be the measurement of Mom’s tummy and cut if from the ball. At the appropriate time during the shower, all the guests will try their string around Mom’s tummy and the guest whose string is the closest in size wins !

Word Scramble.

Create a list of baby related items and scramble the words. Examples:

pacifier – fiercipa
bags of water – sagb fo tarew
caesarean section – seaeracan cointse
diaper – piadre

Put the scrambled words on a piece of paper and make a copy of the list for all the guests. Pass out the lists (face down) with pencils. Set a time limit – say five minutes, and the person to unscramble the most words or finishes first within the five minutes wins !

Diaper Pin Game

Give each guest (and mom-to-be) a diaper pin (or clothes pins if you prefer) when they arrive. Have them attach it to their shirt. If any of your guests say the word "baby" at all during the shower, whoever first catches them saying it gets to take their pin(s). If you are caught saying the word “baby” and have more than one pin, you must relinquish all of them to the guest that catches you! The guest with the most pins at the end of the shower wins a prize!

Baby's Price is Right.

Purchase several baby related items and set them out. Each guest writes down on a piece of paper how much they think each item costs. When done, each guest adds up their total prices and the person with the closet total to the actual cost wins !

Baby Picture Match Game

Have each guest bring a baby picture of themselves (without their name on the back!). Pass around the baby pictures and see which guests can match the most people to their baby pictures. The person that matches the most wins !

Pin the Pacifier on the Baby.

Basically the same game as “pin the tail on the donkey”. Draw a baby on a large piece of paper. Make several paper pacifiers and pass them out to the guests, having them put their name on them. Having the guests stand a few feet from the baby picture, blindfold them, spin them around a few times and let them go. Whoever comes the closest to getting the pacifier in the baby’s mouth wins!

Guess the Baby Food Game.

Have 10 different jars of baby food and remove each label from the jars & number each jar lid 1-10. On a poster board tape the labels from the jars. Each guest will try to match the label with the right baby food. This game can be done with by taste (with little tasting spoons, or by just sight. Make sure you write the answers down so you can check everyone.

Pin the Diaper on a Balloon Game.

The parents to be race to put (the old-fashioned cloth and pin) diaper on a balloon. Whoever finishes first without popping the balloon, wins! While the other has to wear a baby bib! (This free baby shower game idea was emailed to us ~ thank you!)

Clothes Line Game

First, hang up a clothesline with clothespins on it. Next, get a laundry basket and fill it with clothes to be hung. You will also need a timer. Taking turns, each guest must see how many clothes they can hang in 30 seconds while talking on a cordless phone and holding a baby doll.

Dress the Baby Race.

Taking turns, each guest will be blindfolded. Hand them a baby doll, doll clothes, a diaper, and powder. Using a timer, time each guest to see who can completely dress the baby the fastest. If you wish, this can be done one at a time while people are mingling.

Big Belly Race.

Blow up some large balloons and have your guests place them under their shirts and race to see who can tie their shoes the fastest. This is a great co-ed game.

Guess How many are in the bottle

Using a brand new bottle, stuff it full of a useful baby item, (make sure you count them!). Pass the bottle around and have each guest write on a piece of paper how many they think are in the bottle and their name. The guest guessing closest to the actual number wins ! The bottle goes to the new mommy and the guest gets a prize !

Some examples of items to put in the bottle might be: Cotton balls, safety q-tips, hair bows/ties (if mom is having a girl), or baby washcloths.

Guess what’s in the Dirty Diaper Game.

Using five diapers and five different miniature candy bars, slightly melt in the microwave one candy bar in each diaper. Make sure you keep track of what candy bar is in each diaper. Pass the diapers around and have the guests’ guess what kind of candy bar is in each diaper. The guest(s) that guess the most correctly wins!

Baby Shower Raffle.

On your baby shower invitations, request that each guest who wishes to participate in the raffle bring either a pack of diapers or wipes as an extra gift. Those who do so will receive a raffle ticket. During the shower, a drawing will be held for a gift, such as a gift certificate to a restaurant or store, a picture frame or candle, etc. This is a great game to play so that the mom-to be will be stocked up on diapers and wipes!

Picture Keepsakes.

Designate someone to take pictures of each guest with the mom-to-be. Have the pictures developed in duplicate so that the mom-to-be can mail one back to each of her guests with her thank-you notes while keeping an extra set for her baby book. Remember to make sure that the thank-you cards are large enough to hold a 4 x 6 photo.

Crafty Burp Clothes.

Set up a craft table with cloth diapers, craft paints (wash resistant) paint brushes, stamps, etc. Each guest gets to make a cute burp cloth for the expectant mom to use ! If you wish, you can have a contest judging the cutest burp cloth with the winner to receive a little gift!

Admission Ticket – Bring a pack of Diapers!

Becky from Mesa, Arizona charged an admission price of one pack of diapers to attend her daughter’s shower by putting that on the invitation. If the guest brought diapers their ticket went in for a drawing for a prize. Her daughter received so many diapers that she didn’t have to buy any until the baby was three months old!
